About the Role
The Accountant assists management, including the three co-founders, with
important financial and business decisions. The Accountant works with the CFO,
Accounting Clerk and Director of HR and outside resources including bill pay
service, financial auditors, and tax preparers. The Accountant provides the
organization with accurate quantitative information and projections on the
financial position, profitability, liquidity, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liabilities, and
other related financial activities of the company.
As the Accountant, you will manage all financial transactions and budgets. To be
successful in this role, you should have previous experience with bookkeeping and
budgeting, a flair for spotting numerical trends and anomalies, and strong
communication and interpersonal skills.
Responsibilities
Manage all accounting transactions
Prepare budget forecasts
Cost accounting and modeling; cost reduction
Oversee AP and AR
Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual closings
Manage cash and liquidity
Manage balance sheets and profit/loss statements
Generate financial reports on the company’s financial health and liquidity
Review financial transactions and documents; manage income and expense accounts;
prepare analysis of expenditures
Reinforce financial data confidentiality and conduct database backups when necessary
Comply with relevant financial policies and regulations
Requirements and skills
BSc in Accounting, Finance, or other relevant degree, or equivalent experience
Additional certification (CPA or CMA) is a plus
3 years of relevant work experience
Excellent knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures, including the U.S.
Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Hands-on experience with accounting software, including QuickBooks
Advanced MS Excel skills
Relevant industry experience such as fresh food production and CPG is a plus

Compensation commensurate with experience
