We grow local and organic Tulsi - also known as “holy basil” in Ayurvedic practice which pursues health through creating mind, body, and spiritual balance. We only want to grow plants that can make people healthier and we will only grow them in a way that is in balance with nature.
This plant is a power house and contains compounds that are believed to be anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, antiviral, and adaptogenic. It can be eaten fresh and is commonly used to make tea. We planted it at the outset of COVID because of its history as a medicinal herb for the prevention and treatment of respiratory ailments - among its many other traditional uses.
Tulsi is similar to basil and is considered a medicinal herb. We make no health claims about it but we do like to eat it and make tea from its fresh green leaves and purple flowers. As with all medicinal herbs, take the time to read and learn about it if you are interested in using it and do not use it if you are pregnant or nursing unless advised to do so by your doctor.
